Filming for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 came to a halt as an investigation into domestic violence allegations around star Taylor Frankie Paul got underway.
Although Hulu has not commented on the situation or how it will move forward following the incident, Paul hopes she can return to continue sharing her life journey on camera.
“Hard to say now,” Paul said on Good Morning America after being asked about her future on the reality series. “It’s hard to see past this, I’m not going to lie. It’s just so heavy when your life is broadcasted out there in these headlines, it’s like the end of the world. That’s what it feels like.”
She continued, “But I will say, I’ve been here before, and I got through it and shared my story, my life. So I’m hoping that I can do that again.”
GMA’s Lara Spencer reminded Paul that she is one of the executive producers of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, but the Hulu star said she doesn’t “call the shots with production.”
“As of now, I have gotten word that it has been paused, but I don’t call the shots,” she said. “As far as I know, it was [paused], but I don’t know for how long and why.”
Multiple media reports inform that there is an open investigation following an incident involving ABC‘s new Bachelorette star and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, who has been featured on the Hulu reality series since its premiere.
On all the headlines surrounding Paul’s life amid the media tour for the premiere of the dating series, she said, “It’s been a heavy time to see the headlines, especially during this time of The Bachelorette being released, and it’s supposed to be a really exciting time.”
“I’m a person that will always speak my truth, and that’s what I’m known for,” she continued. “When the time is right, I will [speak], but right now, [I’m] just trying to be in the present moment and focus on [The Bachelorette]. The thing is, my kids come first. And so it’s been just a back-and-forth process, trying to be here, the present moment, worrying about home and headlines. It’s been stressful, to be honest.”
